Here's the news article with photos about the events: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-west-side-freight-derailment-blocks-metra-milwaukeewest-line-20120203,0,5066585.story I keep saying yesterday and just uploaded this video today (2/8/2012). By yesterday, I mean 2/3/2012, as I went to the scene on 2/4. I wasn't able to edit the video or make it public until today, so I apologize. But this is the aftermath of a 7-car derailment of a Canadian Pacific train that was coming off a belt railway at Cicero and Grand. The derailment happened closest to North Leclaire Avenuen and West Homer Street, at approximately 1950 North Leclaire Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639 (if you wanna GoogleMap or MapQuest it). The derailment itself happened at about 0900 CST on Friday, February 3rd, 2012. While 7 cars came off the tracks, only three were severely damaged and not re-railed and moved from the scene. Those are the three cars you see in this video. I hope you enjoy it (I was freezing!), hope it's not too long. Thanks for watching!

May 5, 2012 - What kind of units were on the train?

May 8, 2012 - Not sure what kind of units were leading this train. I only heard about this while checking the news and went to the scene a day later after everything had been cleaned up except for these three cars. I just drove by there and stopped and this wreckage is still there.
