Jan 27, 2012 - Yes ... and all the way up to G#6.

Jan 27, 2012 - Natalie is the best at this note to me. Sills is amazing as well and so is Joan. Renee and Price were very impressive as well.

Feb 14, 2012 - personally I like Sutherland's the best. Dessay's high notes sound a little to "forced dramatic" for my tastes. Sutherland's high notes pour out effortlessly like a fountain. Dessay sounds like a moody princess; Sutherland sounds like a majestic, powerful queen.

Feb 14, 2012 - I actually think Dessay's Es are more effortless than Joan's since Dessay is a light lyric coloratura. I also prefer Dessay's sound. But, to each his own.

Feb 14, 2012 - Joan Sutherland, Natalie Dessay and Maria Callas are the Best for ME :)

Feb 14, 2012 - fair enough (she has a beautiful voice) but I still think Joan's high notes are usually more effortless because of the way she approaches them (Joan has one of the best vocal techniques of the 20th century). she's also a HUGE, Wagner sized voice if you were to take it up a third and can produce power and drama just with the sheer size of the voice (more lyric voices tend to have to add drama to the performance in other ways)

Apr 12, 2012 - Sutherland sings Juliette one tone higher? cause it's normally a D.. Strange!

Apr 17, 2012 - hi dear Blaner when will you post the Gsharp collections? Thanks

songbirdwatcher Wypowiedź:

Apr 29, 2012 - Thanks for compiling this collection. So many greats! I had forgotten how great Fleming's E was. Have you heard Annick Massis' Bel Raggio on her Bel canto recital? Fabulous gleaming high E -- one of my favorites.
