I browsed lightly through some of the texts but not really in depth. Also, I have felt a connection to the name Ishtar, and without any conscious knowledge of what it truly means besides a Goddess.... Venus is the one I always felt connected to, and Neptune. Feb 9, 2012 - Nice video :) Many of these gods were demonized in the Old Testament. According to the Bible, Abraham came out of Ur, so he would have been very familiar with these regional gods and stories.

Feb 10, 2012 - In old Judaism, Yahweh had a wife named Asherah (at least until the religion became soley monotheistic). The Bible references Asherah, but in a negative light. However, ancient inscriptions have been found that read "Yawveh and HIS Asherah." Monotheism was a progressive notion amoung the Isrealities, it did not start out that way. Then again, all religions evolve over time with the surrounding culture and views. It's how sequels are written :)
