Llewellyn Williams painting Jimmy .'AND THERE'S MORE', second TV series. Apparently I was known to be 'good with props' (as, sadly, some actors are not) and called in for this sketch when two previous attempts had failed. Having previously painted all sorts of materials but never clothing, a walk-through rehearsal with a dry feather duster, and not seeing the constituency of the 'slosh' before being handed it a few minutes before my entrance in the live studio audience recording, didn't make it easy. But then, crouched on the floor behind the false proscenium arch, ready with bucket and brush for the entrance cue, I suddenly heard one of the sound technicians whispering a plea in my ear; Jimmy was wearing one of the (then) new radio microphones on the front of his shirt and, as they cost many hundreds of pounds, could I please try to miss it with the paint! Happily I managed - to miss it, that is.
