Song: John Riley the Shepherd Arrangement: Adam Hurt (Album: Earth Tones) Tuning: fDGCD (Cumberland Gap) a few steps higher than Adam plays it Please be kind! I've been playing for about a month and this was the first and only take. New set of strings also makes it a bit harder to stay in tune. Adam Hurt's rendition of this song is so haunting and beautiful, that I was instantly inspired to take up the banjo. I think it's a bit ambitious of me to try learning this song with so little experience on the instrument. I don't have tabs. I'm playing it quite slow, so hopefully this is a help to you if you're trying to figure it out. The banjo is made by John Peterson (carryinon[dot]com). The instrument is very playable and the sound is wonderful. I recommend it highly. It does have a bit of a rough hewn look and feel.
