During 1968/69, Tommy James and the Shondells sold more singles than any pop/rock act in the world, including The Beatles and their phenomenal popularity was reflected in this album which, by the end of 1969, had gone triple platinum with no end in sight. Of special note to the fans, is the fact that this was the only TJ & S album on Roulette to contain their million selling hit "BALL OF FIRE". Oct 9, 2011 - You're outdoing yourself, again Ron. This one's in my top 5 favorite T. James songs. 5 stars, minimum! When I was the 1st guy in my neighborhood to install an 8 track player in my car in early '69, I went to the store and bought my 1st two 8tracks to play in it. 1 was MONY MONY by T james & the shondells, the other was SOUNDS OF SILENCE by S & G.
