Bangladesh and Indonesia are two of the most populous Muslim countries and they are not oppressive as far as religion goes. The current Islamist government in Turkey has just won a referendum on constitutional reforms which will make the country more democratic than the secularists were ever willing to tolerate.

However that represents a minority within Christianity, as the intolerant fundamentalists do within Islam. I don't know the details of censorship in Saudi Arabia, but that is to do with the current political situation. Makkah used to be within the Ottoman State, where Christianity and Judaism were protected.

But SA not only forbids the practice of any religion besides Islam, it forbids you from even bringing any holy book or even a medallion like a cross. I imagine they prolly burn all non Islamic stuff they confiscate. It also forbids non Muslims from entering Mecca & Medina & Jews from entering the country period. So I feel no twinge of guilt ignoring Islamic outrage
