Murtala Nyako, the ousted governor of Adamawa State has won the just concluded Governorship Election in the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made the announcement after collating results from 21 local government areas in the state. The former governor, won with a total of 302, 986 votes to beat his closest rival from the action congress of Nigeria, Markus Gundiri, who polled 260, 405 votes. Former military administrator of Lagos State and candidate of the congress for progressive change, Buba Marwa, polled 107, 564 votes of the total cast in the 21 local government areas. Nyako, the peoples Democratic Party candidate, who was evicted as governor 10 days ago by the supreme court, won 13 of the 21 local governments. He received 25 per cent of votes in two-thirds of the local government areas in the state. Markus Gundiri of the ACN won in eight local government areas while CPC candidate, Buba Marwa did not win any local government area in the election.
