New Pigeon Loft

Pigeon loft I built in 2012. Cost $1000 and took me about 70 hours over the course of a month (I work slow). Made a few mistakes along the way such as framing the windows on the load bearing walls as partition walls and a few things 1/4 inch out of square. Since this is basically a shed and we live in an area with very little snow i figured the load on the roof would be minimal so I just left the mistakes as they were. Hope you like it!

Feb 12, 2012 - Hi, the windows on the front will be the entrance to the flypens. The windows on the sides and back will be covered with hardware cloth and opened in the summer for ventilation. Not sure I understand the concerns about glass windows thanks for the input.

Feb 12, 2012 - well for one , hawks could smash your window trying to get to your birds ,and you make it easy for someone to break in and take your birds, you should consider making drop traps opening for your birds to get in only , read the story about hawk and vermin getting into loft at PT , just giving friendly advice to a fellow member

Mar 22, 2012 - Nice! There is a lot of potential for this unit. I have one much like it. 10' x 10' x 10' with exhaust fan and electricity. I don't have as many windows, but I added on from the window and have a 3' x 3' x 3' wire flight walk on one side so they can go in and out when I am not here. I do not fly that much here because of hawks. They are protected so...
