Realm first kill for Void on Mug'thol. 25man World 69th, US 22nd. I didn't get a chance to record our first kill from last week (only took us 8 pulls to kill so was a little unexpected to be so fast), so I just recorded our second kill here for an upload. The fight is pretty easy overall, however this was our only Tier 13 progression kill after the 5% Power of the Aspects buff which was implemented the right after our pre-nerf Spine kill, so we never got a chance to work on this fight before that change. For how little time we spent on learning it, we could have definitely killed it pre-nerf had we gotten a good 2 nights of attempts to work on it, just as many of the other guilds did that killed it before January 31st. SV hunters are pretty good for the fight, doing above average DPS on most parses. I happened to supply our raid's only source of the 5% critical strike buff from a Wolf's Furious Howl, however, I also was pet switching and on the 3rd and 4th platforms used a Beetle with Intervene to add an additional absorb to our tank for the Impale damage. Although WoL doesn't seem to calculate/credit the pet with the absorb, it did seem to be working (see log info below). I looked at the absorbs prior to the Impale hit from the Discipline Priest and two Holy Paladins, and the Protection Warrior's own Revenge absorb, but it didn't add up to anywhere near as much as what seemed to be granted from the Intervene. It also might have been completely useless and not working correctly, but better safe than sorry since he lived =p It's a bit risky to switch pets since they can die to Mutated Corruption Crush damage before they inherit their master's stats when summoned, but you can do it safely if you time it in the 5 second window between Crush hits. My macro used to have Cower in it also, but it seemed unnecessary since the pet didn't actually look to be taking any damage, but had the negative effect of slowing the pet's movement speed and sometimes making positioning unreliable with the 8 yard minimum range on Intervene.
