Feb 9, 2012 - what's interesting is that Charles gained something a lot of privileged people don't have. The necessity of the acquirement of empathy towards the victims of inequality in victorian society. He saw reality. For him; the demonization of the poor as being culpable in their own suffering became a lie. He saw the truth for himself - that people were the victims of the society that used and discarded them. Ian Duncan Smith is no different to the privileged of that time. Ignorant and devious.
