Mar 15, 2012 - I don't see how it would apply to this pistol however I do see it as a valuable device to prevent spring pistols that load at the beech and have moving parts that could harm you should the trigger be accidently pulled or if the pistol were dropped while loading. There's lots of info regarding "beartraps" on google. Good luck :o)

Mar 30, 2012 - ALERT: I wanted to revise this statement due to a video I saw regarding a major safety concern wih this pistol. If this pistol is cocked with the barrel still down and the trigger is pulled, the barrel with snap back up and take a chunck out of anything in its way like your finger. Thanks "thebowwizack" for bringing it up.
