Note: This is not ePMV, but the standalone app PMV... see below to download. Ludovic Autin implemented game engine trick that roughly mimics the effects of Ambient Occlusion on 3D models in realtime into The Python Molecular Viewer, and Michel Sanner and his team worked to get it running in the latest version RC3. You can install it for free mgltools.scripps.edu/downloads/mgltools-1-5-6-release-candidate This movie starts with the option turned off as you would see in most standard molecular viewers, I think click D to add depth cuing (standard option in all molecular viewers) and then click O to turn on Ludovic's new AOeffect. The difference in clarity is stunning. Deep pockets suddenly recede into the molecule and overlaps become much more obvious. This feature requires no recalculation or complex texture mapping and it works on any and all PMV objects in the scene, e.g., MSMS, CMS, ribbon, multiple models, interacting models, etc. Brilliant Ludovic and Michel!!!
