"Do you think that 13-14 is too young to 'date'? I mean, not really dating, but testing the waters. There's this guy that I like but he knows that I like him because I told him that. What should I do? I REALLY like him, but I really regret telling him that because I feel desprate/obvious and almost like I just ruined the relationship. Please help!" I don't think it's even too early to learn how to navigate relationships. We learn as we go and the earlier you begin, the faster you learn. Here you learned one of the most important lessons. Never confess your feelings out of nowhere. If the guy doesn't like you, it won't make him like you and will intimidate him. If the guy does like you, it may still scare him off because he might be scared to ruin it. Now, you told this guy you like him and you can't take that back. What you should do now is step back. If he approaches you be nice and friendly. Don't go out of your way to talk to him because it will be too obvious. Also, don't talk to your friends about how much you like him. Word gets around fast in school. Do this for a few weeks and let me know what happens. Worst comes to worst, you learned a really good lesson for your next relationship.
