A nine-car train comprised of five R62A cars sandwiched between two R33 cars at each end passes through Queensboro Plaza three times on its way from Corona Yard to Coney Island Yard. The first pass, not shown in this video, is along the path normally taken by regular #7 trains. They usually change ends and switch tracks at Hunters Point Avenue. This video starts with the second pass, where the train crosses over to the Astoria line. The third pass through Queensboro Plaza is along the path usually taken by N and Q trains through the station. You can notice the considerable gap between train and platform during this pass. The train consists of 9340, 9323, 2151, 2152, 2153, 2154, 2155, 9308, and 9307. Take a listen to 9307's horn as the video of the third pass fades in.

Feb 9, 2012 - I'm guessing since 2151-2155 are singles, they might be going to Coney to be linked into a 5 car set.

Feb 10, 2012 - Why all the switching ends? Why not just cross over south of 33rd Street station with the new diamond crossover there, wrong-rail towards QBP, then cross over to the Astoria line? That would get the interloper out of the way faster.

Feb 10, 2012 - That move would conflict with or delay more regular trains... at least 3: A northbound holding at G2-111 X32, a southbound on G1 in the station, and a northbound on C2 at 1611C. Whereas in the move I described, it's always following an in-service train, which leads to fewer delays. As this train was waiting to leave Queensboro Plaza to get to the Astoria line, TWO trains from the 60th Street tunnel came in and went, going towards Astoria.
