The world's most powerful SNES/SFC flash cart is coming... Features: SD/SDHC/SDXC support (tested up to 64GB; no exFAT support so SDXC cards must be reformatted using FAT32) High quality push-push memory card slot Fast ROM loading (~9MB/s) Fast menu navigation High resolution menu (512×224) for adequate display of long file names Real Time Clock Supports ROM size up to 128MBit (96Mbit actually implemented) Automatic near-time SRAM saving to SD Card (while the game runs). Some limitations apply: near-time saving is switched to periodic saving when a game is found to use the SRAM as work RAM. Automatic saving is disabled when MSU1 is used. SRAM is saved on reset. Enhancement chip support (see below for implementation status) SuperCIC key (SNES CIC clone): enables operation on unmodified consoles of all regions supports software 50/60Hz switching on SuperCIC enhanced consoles (to be performed by sd2snes firmware, not yet implemented there) Enhancement chips Each supported enhancement chip can be used in conjunction with MSU1. Implemented: BS-X memory map / Satellaview base unit registers (clock) DSP1 / 1b DSP2 DSP3 DSP4 ST-010 Cx4 MSU1 S-RTC Work in progress GSU-1/2 (SuperFX)

Feb 9, 2012 - Its not a replacement for the Super EverDrive product. The costs are considerably different. Super EverDrive Ultimate is $144.99, where as just for the board of the SD2SNES is $184.99 and $259.99 for Deluxe Edition. So no there is probably not a reason to own both if you have the SD2SNES.

Feb 9, 2012 - I don't know, but its never suggested to use flash carts on clones since they were designed for original hardware. They sometimes work on clone hardware, but in some cases they can be flaky.
DJWrath1 Wypowiedź:
Feb 9, 2012 - But would it be possible to make it work for clone systems? Like if someone does not have a regular snes they can get a clone system and play this. So they would not have to search for a snes.

Feb 13, 2012 - where is my name? i are the tester of the sd2snes. ;) do you want this video on sd2snes? write me a pn and i make it.

Feb 24, 2012 - Any idea on release date? I was thinking about buying another cart but this does more than anything that exists.
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Feb 24, 2012 - Blank PCBs are being made in China right now. Then they will be populated in Ukraine and then shipped to us. My guess is most likely April.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Feb 25, 2012 - cool thanks man. I'm going to just keep checking your site because I already decided a couple days ago that I'm going to buy there.

Feb 27, 2012 - What is the difference between this and the old one and the SNES retropak?
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Feb 27, 2012 - Check video description.
RiDstarX Wypowiedź:
Mar 5, 2012 - Yeah.. I'll be buying the Deluxe Edition soon as you guys have them up on your site! Just gotta have one.. So April it is eh?
ceramiclion Wypowiedź:
Mar 23, 2012 - So, do you know how much this unit will go for exactly?
theuglykwan Wypowiedź:
Mar 24, 2012 - I would never have imagined retro gaming could support a high end product like this. But sounds pretty cool.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Mar 28, 2012 - It looks like the first sample doesn't have as many components on it as I thought it would. I wonder if the price actually will be decent on it :) Hopefully it is easy to tell when preorders start, don't want to miss out on the first batch. Will keep my eyes peeled. stoneagegamer, I don't mind about a custom cart shell. I think I'll make one myself but the one you are coming out with sounds good with the LED light channel and all. Sounds like a lot of work to make the cart shell so far.
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Mar 29, 2012 - The price will be quite high. We are talking probably $195 for the board only. The cart shell takes quite a bit of modding to get LCB to fit, even if you don't do anything with LEDs. The components Ikari_01 used are expensive, plus obviously he gets a certain cut of each cart sold which adds to price. Not that he doesn't deserve it.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Mar 29, 2012 - what yields the $10 cost increase above the initial $185 for bare board? sounds like modding the plastic shell itself may take longer than actually assembling the PCB. Hopefully you can get it down to a science. I won't suggest making a brand new shell with a fresh mold because it costs over 500 bucks to do. I forgot how much it was exactly. There's a guy on Coleco forums that knows.
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Mar 30, 2012 - It would cost significantly more than $500 and really would not lower the cost. Getting custom shells engineered, dies created, and then produced you are talking tens of thousands of dollars up front cost. If it were only $500 every EverDrive would have custom shell.
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Mar 30, 2012 - This is niche market item, the board is expensive. Who knows how many will be sold. Few hundred? Maybe a thousand? That hardly justifies the cost and engineering of a custom shell mold. Board has to be made at another factory because factory that makes EverDrive PCBs did not have ability to do the SD2SNES PCB. This raised price.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Mar 30, 2012 - Yeah now I know I got my figures off by a digit. So it must have cost $5,000 to make a brand new cartridge mould then. The board itself looks very fine so I would assume it might cost a little over $100 for the PCB alone maybe. And that is without the parts soldered on yet. But yeah man, me and another guy are waiting for your preorder to come up on your site so count us in :)
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Mar 30, 2012 - btw not meaning to be picky but this video seems to have a lot of staticy sound to it through the speakers on my laptop :P
stoneagegamer Wypowiedź:
Mar 30, 2012 - Good news is its not your speakers. Seems to be issue with audio on video.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Apr 1, 2012 - I know all of this man. I already own several flash carts as well as have been into this stuff since late 1994. if these start selling off greater than expected then it probably would justify dumping 5 grand into making a custom shell mould but until then, custom it is. either way I don't mind. bare board is what gets the job done. you might want to consider selling a kit for those that don't adopt the custom shell early because some may regret it.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Apr 2, 2012 - yeah that would have sucked man. brand new laptop. :) I check back here almost every day for updates and your web site as well. come to think of it, if you keep having interesting stuff going on as you do now, I'm sure lots of people will keep coming back to your site like myself. your "experimental" cartridges are awesome too.
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Apr 9, 2012 - I was reading that KRIKzz had a difficult time obtaining one component so it pushed the release a little bit. I'm going to keep checking your site. Hopefully there will be some for preorder by the beginning of next month :)
FlatAbove732 Wypowiedź:
Apr 21, 2012 - w00t preorders up at KRIKzz. you should post a video of the deluxe with new non crackley music :) I'm wondering if you are going to make NTSC cart and PAL cart or if you are planning on using the PAL cart just as I saw for both (I noticed you slotted it for NTSC console) I like the look of the pal cart one :) but either one looks good with that purple you chose.
DJWrath1 Wypowiedź:
Feb 9, 2012 - Would this work on clone systems? Like Retron 3?
