Oct 17, 2011 - The Wind in the Willows is the most quintissentially English book with typically English humour and it just doesn't cut it being read in an American accent. How would the adventures of Huckleberry Finn come across in an Oxford Accent? However even if misguided you are to be congratulated on appreciating it enough to select it and in resisting the temptation to abridge it.

Dec 9, 2011 - That's right. Brit books should be read by Brits - NOT Americans

Jan 22, 2012 - How sad it is when we are provided with such a labor of love and with arrogance we engage in unkind criticism. What arrogance, as if an American somehow detracts from the beauty of this story. If you don't like what you hear, the remedy is simple: DON'T LISTEN. In the mean time keep your "misguided" comments to yourself.

Feb 29, 2012 - So I guess Americans shouldn't bother reading any British lit to their kids. And we shouldn't even think of translation into other languages. And Shakespeare should not be performed outside of England...blah blah blah.

Apr 16, 2012 - So why don't YOU read it in a proper British voice? Until then, this works pretty well.

May 20, 2012 - RWSB1793. 01/05/20/2012 A.D. LOOK, ARCHIE BUNKER, DONT TELL OTHERS WHAT TO READ OR NOT TO READ,ALL RIGHT? AMERICANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO READ OR LISTEN TO WHAT EVER THEY CHOOSE TO,REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY ARE BRITISH, AMERICAN OR ANYWHERE ELSE.I READ OR LISTEN TO SHERLOCK HOLMES,A BRITISH CREATION.THERE IS NO PLACE IN LITERATURE FOR SEGREGATION OR CENSORSHIP,PERIOD!

May 20, 2012 - RWSB1793. 01/05/20/2012 A.D. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE IF THE NARRATOR IS ENGLISH OR AMERICAN, OR CANADIAN OR AUSTRALIAN OR WHAT EVER? THE STORY ITSELF IS THE THING, JUST LISTEN AND ENJOY.
