This video acts as an attempted presentation "official" Body Count of the Iraqi War; documented from the initial one hundred officially recorded numbers from http://www.iraqbodycount.org/database/individuals/ re-presented by myself for exactly the same basic motivation as others have recorded those who perished on September 11th 2001. Each person is an innocent victim whose life was unjustly and abruptly ended. Each person loved and was loved. And each person requires to be remembered; not as a statistic but as a human being - brutally and unjustly plucked from their life. This is not a video nor should it be perceived as such. This is s testimony to the Individual; to life; to living; to loss; to theft and to human consciousness. This is an experience, it's aim; to challenge the viewer to consider life; to retain it; and to justify it's loss. As the names relentlessly increase in speed - so too does our thought process. The brain activity intensifies until contemplation becomes impossible, futile and lost. Do lost, intangible words and sounds begin mean more, or less? To survive in this environment - to fully appreciate it - and consider the mass individuality lost in the collective - retention and remembrance is vital. Ultimately, however, our attention and consideration dies with the faceless names and meaningless words. The most real, lively and important words to so many, become insignificant and consciously evaded as a direct result of their mass collection. And their lives become lost once more.
