Digging a well by hand in my own backyard! pt2

I made a well in my garden by hand: I dug in a 4 meter 50 cm diameter tube, by using dredging techniques to get the dirt/sand out and hammering to get the tube further in. This part shows how water and sand mixture is pumped out, the sand deposits, and the water flows back in.

Feb 27, 2012 - I use this well for watering the garden and filling the pond in dry times.... and in winter to make icy art.... ;-)
