FIRST there was Tiger Mum; now there is Eagle Dad, whose uncompromising ideology is shown in a home video of his four-year-old son pleading in vain for a cuddle while being ordered to run almost naked through the snow. The footage of the Chinese boy's icy ordeal, uploaded to the internet, has prompted condemnation and support in China. It was shot during a family visit to New York last month, when temperatures fell as low as minus 13C. He Yide, wearing only a pair of underpants and trainers, is seen being thrust into the cold by his father, Liesheng, 44, a businessman who believes that the experience will force the boy "to challenge his limitations and exceed his own expectations". As residents shovel thick drifts from the pavements, the boy can be seen wailing miserably, repeatedly asking his father to "hug me" as he stands shivering in the biting cold. He also cries for his mother. The response is a blunt "come on!" as the Eagle Dad coaxes his son to jog through the snow and then do press-ups. His mother can be heard sniggering off camera before urging the boy: "Just do one press-up for me." Feb 13, 2012 - ich hab sogar ein sehr großes Herz und natürlich tut mir der Junge auch ein wenig leid, denn das er das nicht toll findet, müssten die Eltern ja sehen. Dennoch hab ich was gegen diese Heuchelei hier. Da wird ein kurzer Ausschnitt durch einen TV-Sender aufbereitet und hier als Skandal hochstilisiert, damit sich auch ja alle User über die Rabeneltern aufregen. Sowas kann ich echt nicht ab. Mal davon abgesehen, hab ich als Kind in Russland das auch erlebt. Überlebt!

Feb 22, 2012 - Read: His son was really weak when he was young, his skin was able to be cut with a butterknife because it was so thin he has more than ten diseases that are weakening him. His dad who is holding the camera is traning him to be stronger so his illness cannot get worse, so far this training has made his illness actually go away. Unbelievable, I believe his parents suffered from making his son do this too, but this may be a good thing.
