In 1946 Rose Marie, then signed to a contract with Mercury Records, went into the studio with Earle Hagen's Orchestra and recorded "Love is the Darndest Thing" from Paramount's "Cross My Heart." The song was penned by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen and sung by Betty Hutton in the movie.
